About the Quality Payment Program

The Quality Payment Program (QPP) is the new Medicare Part B payment system that was established by the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA).

Starting in 2017, eligible clinicians will begin participating in one of two payment tracks to earn additional increases in their Medicare payments in 2019—the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System or an Alternative Payment Model (APM).
